Definition:
A database is an organized collection of structured information, or data, typically stored electronically in a computer system. A database is usually controlled by a database management system (DBMS).
What is Data?
Data is a raw or unprocessed information. Typically, the data is raw and there is no statistical or any analysis made before to understand whether it is a real one or not.
Example:
We are using smartphones with many social media applications. Each and every message as in the form of text, images (irrespective of formats), documents (irrespective of formats), links everything considered as Data.
It can be processed by organizations, individuals or any other in need according to their requirements.
How is data connected to database?
All these collected data from various sources needs a location as a physical or cloud space to store. The Location or the space where the data is stored is called as database.
Physical storage of data requires lots of effort and space consumption. Risk to loss of data is very minimal. However, damage or missing of data due to natural calamities, physical damage of storage system is voidable.
